What's New / What Will Be

Wow... a small update. What caused this, you're probably wondering (if you still check up here). Well, the old host of my message board died, so I had to replace it. I've got a new board now... let's see how long that lasts for! Anyhow, I also wanted to annouce, as some of you may have noticed, that I now own my own domain, http://www.mewtopia.net, and have a version of Mewtopia hosted at http://myu.mewtopia.net. Please update your bookmarks. In further notices, I have added the Pokedex entries for Mew and Mewtwo in Gold and Silver to the lists. I was quite disappointed that Stadium GS does not have any distinct entries. I never was able to find entries for Crystal, and I don't have time to even play my Japanese version I got for Christmas. Hmm... it's pretty nifty though, the US release of Crystal will be on my birthday! Also, in other small updates I removed the cursing from the US version of my Mewtwo Strikes back script, upon request.

In case you want to find out when this site is rarely updated, why not get an e-mail when it is? I mean, given my annual updates, you really don't have to worry about being spammed! Just make sure you put in http://myu.mewtopia.net/what.htm where it asks for the URL you want to watch!

Now, I feel I need to take a moment to explain why I don't update much. Mostly it's due to the fact that I've got so little free time and so much to do within it. I work seven days a week, seriously. My last day off was Easter Sunday, and I spent it getting out a demo for my RPG, Scrued! Nuka's Bizarre Adventure. That brings us to the second constraint on my time; my projects. First and foremost, I'm an artist. I dedicate most of my time to the production of various pieces of art, or other creative projects. These are very labor intensive, and make it near impossible for me to dedicate myself to a site as well. I'm sorry for that. However, if you've ever seen my VCL gallery, you'll know I'm being honest. It took me six mos to get out a demo for that RPG! Before that came my life sized plush Mewtwo, and also the comic I was working on, but have since discontinued (I lost all of the work I had done on the shading in the many computer formattings.) I might just post the 120 unshaded panels (13 pages) I had done for everyone to see though. The art is so old now I just hate it. Ah.. art.. that brings to light another one of the factors in my abbandonment of Mewtopia. Every piece of art I have posted here has been stolen numerous times. I'm glad people appreciated my art, but it's heartbreaking to see it and my characters constantly being copied or just blantantly taken. At times I've considered completely removing the fan art section. It might have also helped prevent the stream of people who pretended to be me. Losing my identity because of this page was another great stress. However, I guess that's what comes with the taste of fame I took, and if I ever want to be a comic book artist I should get used to it. The world's a brutal place; but I get off track. Needless to say, this page is a stress and a burden most of the time, and I never imagined how big it would get, but here we are over 80,000 hits later. Not bad for a site with updates as rare as eclipses.

In more on topic news, two weeks ago I got to see "Mewtwo Lives!" the made for TV sequel to Mewtwo Strikes Back. It was a very different Mewtwo movie, that's for sure! The best part by far is that they actually did more animation with Mewtwo this time. You get to see him walk, and show a much greater range of emotion. Hmm, perhaps I'll write a review for it. Not watching any anime, or listenning to radio dramas has caused my Japanese comprehension to really slide, so I unfortunately picked up little of the plot details thought >.<;;. Oh well. It's nice to see Mewtwo in another animation just the same.

First update of the new millenium. I am proud to announce that Mewtopia is back from it's long hiatus. You might wonder where I've been. Mainly, I've been at work. Yep. The last update came five days before I was hired at my current job. It was the death certificate for my free time. Then came my projects. Though "The Master Plan" was never fully initiated, I do have something to show for it. That will be coming soon. I wanted to finish this update, so I have only managed to get a few things done for now. In the fan art section I've added numerous new images, so many I lost count! Unfortunately, one piece of art in a format I did not have I could not post. I'd prefer if your images are sent as jpg or gif files, since they are web ready. However, anything PSP can't read, neither can I. Aside of fan art, I have also made many changes to "The Cult of Mew." Please check out that site for critical information if you were a former member. Thanks the maintainer of the Pokemon Hub, we now have a detailed novelization of "The Birth of Mewtwo" (anime version.). Go to the MSB feature and find out what Nintendo doesn't want you to know. The voting page has also been updated. Finally, I updated Mewtwo and Mew's profiles to reflect the Gold and Silver information and corrected a few translation errors.

Unfortunately, this update was cut a bit short. I'm going to start in on the fanfics soon, add a page for the legacy of the "Master Plan." I will also be writing my review of the dubbed version of "Mewtwo Strikes Back." New sounds and pictures are soon to come along with a catelouge of my collection. My scanner is currently down though, so some areas will take longer to update.

In other good news, we have a new message board! Check it out, it's far superior to the old one, which will be cleanned out and left for reference. Drop down menus and a link to the front page have been added to all Mewtopia pages now.

Finally, it will take a bit more work, but the time has come for me to retire "Seraph Janus." The mascot served me well for five years, but there comes a time when all things must end. Who will be my new mascot? That's up to you to decide! The vote is coming soon.

Oh wait, I almost fogot, my E-mail actually works now. There should be no further problems.

This weeks update is rather late, only this time I have no excuse. I've just been lazy. Hopefully you'll be pleased by what I've got for you. I bought a deck of pokemon playing cards and have scanned all the ones with mew or Mewtwo on them in and saved them as jpgs (mm2j01, mm2j02, mu2j08, mu2j09, muj07, muj08, muj09 and muj10). I also have two pieces of new fan art for you (Family and Mew2AG). Mew2G is the premiere work of a new fanartist here at Mewtopia, Ant Geomax. Also thanks to Toraeru Hito Mewtopia now has the cries of mew and Mewtwo from the Gameboy games (mewtwogm and mewgm). Toraeru's Mewtwo/Mew desktop theme will soon be availible on Mewtopia, but for now you can get it on his site! A link to Toraeru's Mewtwo Shrine has been added a long with a few other links. I've also tweaked several minor errors on a few pages. If you spot any more, please mail me.

Word has it that Mewtwo Strikes Back might not be out until December! Right now this is a very reliable rumor (you can find further details in the Mewtwo Strikes Back feature page). I will keep you updated!

Been having trouble mailing me? I just found out why. In my rush to get my site up, I forgot to start my Mewtopia mail account! ^_^;; How silly. well I've started it now, so if you want to mail me, you actually can now! ^_^

Also, in site news, I want to join a few web rings, but there are so many to pick from. If you have any suggestions for good ones, please let me know.

Finally, here's your chance to speak out on the running of Mewtopia. The issue? Navigation. Now, I personally don't mind clicking the back button, but it does bother some people. I could add the drop down menu to the bottom of all my pages, do you think I should?

Sorry this update is a little late. I've been sick all week and just haven't felt like doing much work on it. However, here is this weeks update. I've added a few pictures to the general image gallery (mu2g06, mu2j07 and muj06), two to the fanart (Phantom and Gofish), and three sound clips from The Birth of Mewtwo (Mu2tan01-03). I've also changed the Mewtwo Strikes Back script some, and am now on version 1.3 Alpha. Also, an alternative version of the script with English character names is now availible. The members list and list of sacred things of the Cult of Mew has been updated. Also, an Art Contest, complete with prizes is now being run for club members. There is now a link to two locations where you can buy the item of the month.

In other news, Mewtopia has passed the 1000 hit mark! Thanks to all who made this possible. Also, if you were the 1000 hit, please come forward.

Also, my fanfic will be a serial. I hope to get 1 chapter out a week, starting soon. Unfortunately, being sick has put me behind scheduale for Chapter 3. I've started though, and hopefully it will be up soon. It is titled "Visitiors."

After months of work, Mewtopia is finally a reality. With several image galleries, detailed profiles, a collection of pokedex entries for all the games, a mail server, message board, fan art and my fanfic, and much, much more it's a decent start. However, Mewtopia is in no way a completed project. There will be more to see soon, so keep coming back! Also, if you find any errors in these pages, please tell me about them and I'll correct them ASAP.
